Breast Reconstruction

Patient 46

Dr. Kilgo

A woman in her 30s with the BRCA–1 mutation desired risk reducing mastectomy. The patient underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy with tissue expander placement. After completion of expansion, the expanders were removed, and she underwent bilateral breast reconstruction with microvascular transfer of her abdominal tissue. Her most recent procedure involved fat grafting and removal of excess tissue. The postoperative photos were taken approximately 2 months after her most recent procedure.
